Anaconda, MT at a Glance
A historic, 585-foot-tall smoke tower, the world's tallest free standing masonry
structure, is the only structure in Anaconda visible from the interstate. The
surrounding dense timber forests serve not only as a privacy-invoking backdrop
for the town but as a home to local wildlife and a multitude of recreational activities,
including cross-country skiing, hunting and camping. The region is populated with
golf courses, hiking trails, lakes and a ski resort just 15 minutes away in the
Rocky Mountains. At Lost
Creek State Park, visitors have the chance to see 1,200-ft (366 m) limestone
cliffs as well as Lost
Creek Falls, which drop 50 ft (15 m) into the basin below. Whether looking
to enjoy the scenery provided by Mount Haggin, relax on a sandy beach or take
part in one of the numerous year-round activities, Anaconda provides a location
ideal for those looking to embrace southwestern Montana.
